$5 Vikings Tickets

My cousin went down to the HHH Metrodome last Sunday and was able to buy four Minnesota Vikings Tickets for $5/Ticket. I am sure that the eight inches of snow that the Twin Cities got on Sunday had a lot to do with the lack of demand for Vikings Tickets on the street. Historically, whenever the weather is nasty, there isn't a large amount of people that come down to the Metrodome in Minneapolis looking for Vikings Football Tickets. If you are ever looking for a bargain on Vikings Tickets, watch the weather channel and head down to the Hubert Humphrey Metrodome when snow is in the forecast.

R. Kelly Cancels Show

I just got word that R. Kelly has canceled his show that was scheduled for 12/20 at the Target Center. He blames the weather for the cancellation. I think it has more to do with the lack of ticket sales for the concert. How does a performer blame 30 degree weather in Minneapolis in December for cancelling a 12/20 concert. Doesn't he know that this feels like summer to us? Whatever the reason is, those of you who bought Target Center Tickets for the R. Kelly show can get a full refund at Ticketmaster or the Target Center Box Office.

Vikings vs. Bears Tickets

I am sorry to keep writing about Vikings Tickets but it is fun to actually have a HOT ticket in the Twin Cities. It has been a long time since I have seen a sporting event ticket sky-rocket in price like the Minnesota Vikings Tickets prices have for next Monday night's game versus the Chicago Bears. The ticket prices have now exceeded the prices for the Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers ticket prices in September. It feels like they are just going to keep going up and it looks like there isn't going to be a big fire sale the day of the game.

I am sure that if the Vikings beat the Bears on Monday night, the ticket prices will go way up for the Washington Redskins game on 12/23. That could be the Minnesota Vikings game when they could clinch a playoff game. If you are thinking about going to the Redskins game, buy your seats now. GO VIKINGS!!!

Minnesota Vikings Tickets

What is up with Minnesota Vikings Ticket prices? I have been monitoring the Vikings Tickets on the Internet and have watched ticket prices double on the game versus the Washington Redskins on 12/23. I am not surprised that the prices have gone up while the Minnesota Vikings have gotten hot on the field but I am surprised that the prices have doubled. A month ago, you could buy tickets in the upper level end zone for $15/Ticket. Those same Vikings Tickets are selling for over $30/Ticket now. I am sure that if the Vikings beat the Chicago Bears on 12/17 we will see the same seats selling for over $50/Ticket. It has been a long time since tickets to the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome have gone up in price at the end of the year. I guess it is simply the price of success. GO VIKINGS!!!

Tubby Smith and Gopher Basketball Tickets

It appears as though the arrival of Tubby Smith has ended the days when you can buy Minnesota Golden Gophers Basketball Tickets for pennies on the dollar. My friend was looking around for tickets to the non-conference Gopher Basketball game versus the Colorado State Rams tomorrow and seats are selling for over face value. Last year, with Dan Monson as the coach, Gopher Tickets to non conference games were selling for $5 or $10. I have even heard rumors that lower level Gopher Basketball Tickets have been selling for over the face value outside Williams Arena on game days.

If you are even sort of interested in catching a Gopher Basketball game this year, I would buy now because I am sure that prices will sky-rocket for the Big Ten games. GO GOPHERS!!!

Gophers Hockey Tickets

For those of you who haven't noticed, the Minnesota Golden Gophers Hockey team is off to one of its worst starts in recent history. It used to be practically impossible for an opposing team team to beat the Gophers at Mariucci Arena. Unfortunately, that has changed this year, with the Gopher Hockey Team losing on a regular basis at Mariucci Arena. The slow start has really caused a decrease in demand for Gopher Hockey Tickets this year. I was told that seats are selling for less than the face value of the tickets the night of the games and the online ticket broker sites keep dropping their prices. Unless the Gopher Hockey team turns things around, I am sure that prices will continue to drop. The people of Minnesota are not used to having the Gophers Hockey Team be anything but the best. GO GOPHERS!!!

Minnesota Vikings Playoff Tickets?

I didn't think that there was any chance that I would bring up Minnesota Vikings Playoff Tickets this year. However, the recent winning streak by my favorite NFL team has mad it possible that the Minnesota Vikings Ticket Office will have to mail out applications for 2007 Vikings Playoff Tickets. If the Vikings beat the Detroit Lions this Sunday, they are totally back in the N.F.L playoff hunt. Historically, the first round playoff games are a really soft ticket but if this Minnesota Vikings Team rallies for a Playoff spot on the Back of Adrian Peterson, I think the the band-wagon fans would storm the HHH Metrodome for a playoff game. I am sure that I have totally jinxed the Vikings by writing about them going to the NFL Playoffs but who cares, it is fun to consider. GO VIKINGS!!!

Minnesota Wild Tickets Heating Up

Just as in years past, the market for Minnesota Wild Tickets, really started to heat up around Thanksgiving. Wild Tickets to the Wednesday Minnesota Wild game before Thanksgiving as well as the Friday Wild game after Thanksgiving were both tough Minnesota Wild Tickets to find. I am sure that it is due to the fact that people are always looking for something to do other than hang out with their relatives around the holidays. There is a Minnesota Wild game around Christmas versus the Detroit Red Wings on 12/22 that I am sure will turn out to be an extremely tough Wild Ticket to find. My advice to those of you that are interested in finding an excuse to get away from all of your annoying relatives around Christmas is to buy Minnesota Wild Tickets now before they all disappear and you have to stare at your great ants mole all night.

Van Morrison at Northrop Auditorium

I am jealous of all of you that were lucky enough to snag some Van Morrison Tickets for the show at Northrop Auditorium. Northrop will be an awesome place to see legendary Van Morrison. I didn't even realize that the show was announced until it was way too late to grab any Northrop Auditorium Tickets. Ever since Northrop Auditorium stopped using Ticketmaster, it has been hard to keep track of which shows are coming. You have to hand it to Northrop because they had Neil Young and they are going to have Van Morrison on stage at Northrop Auditorium. Not bad for an old Auditorium that was built a zillion years ago.

Golden Gopher Basketball Tickets

My hunch is that the hiring of Tubby Smith will lead to a resurgence in the popularity of the Minnesota Golden Gopher Basketball program. With this increased popularity, we will definitely see increased demand for the once untouchable Gopher Basketball Tickets. Back in the days of Clem Haskins, Golden Gopher Basketball Tickets were an extremely hot commodity. Dan Monson and numerous losing seasons caused Gopher Basketball Tickets to be as worthless as Timberwolves Tickets are today. I can't wait for a return to the days of a packed Williams Arena and a winning Gopher Basketball team. Unfortunately, there is a cost to the future success of the Minnesota Golden Gopher Basketball program and that is increased ticket prices.

Ticket King in St. Paul

I dropped my wife off at the Bruce Springsteen show in Saint Paul tonight and I couldn't help but notice that Ticket King has opened it's St. Paul office. It is conveniently located just a few doors down from the Eagle Street Grille which is right across the street from the Xcel Energy Center. by the looks of their extremely large sign, it looks as if they didn't screw around. I am sure that concert and sporting event goers will get used to either picking up their tickets at TicketKing or stopping by for last second deals on hard to find tickets. It is nice to have Minnesota's hometown ticket broker in St. Paul.

Gopher Hockey Tickets

Minnesota Gopher Hockey Tickets have hit the market and they are expensive with a capital "E". My favorite online Minnesota Ticket Broker is charging anywhere from $69/Ticket to get in for the game on 11/2 versus the Denver Pioneers to $169/Ticket for the North Dakota game on 2/1. Keep in mind that there are seldom deals to be had outside Mariucci Arena on game days and that if you have to see a particular Gopher Hockey game, buy them ahead of time. In years past, prices have risen as the season goes on because the Minnesota Gophers are always a factor in the WCHA. GO GOPHERS!!!

Lion King at Historic Orpheum Theatre

Lion King revisits the Twin Cities this fall with more than one month of performances at the Historic Orpheum Theatre downtown Minneapolis. The shows start this week and are basically sold out through Ticketmaster. However, it is still possible to buy tickets online from Ticket King. There were VIP seats available in the first ten rows of the main floor that come with some sort of souvenir. The face value of that type of seat is $140/ticket. Ticket King is currently selling those for around $250/ticket. It is definitely expensive but it is the price that you have to pay if you want to see this Broadway classic in your home town. I did notice that you can get a bargain on Orpheum Theatre Tickets for Lion King this weekend. Maybe by holding out, the prices will also drop on future performances?

Inside Edition New York will be at Hannah Montana Concert

There is no doubt that Hannah Montana is the latest media craze and I have received notice that Inside Edition New York will be at the Target Center this Sunday night to interview parents who paid high prices for their Hannah Montana Miley Cyrus tickets. Here is a message from their office:

Everybody seems to be overpaying for Hannah Montana Tickets and Inside Edition would love to speak with parents who overpaid the most. If you bought your tickets from a scalper, auction, or ticket-broker that charged you over $1,000 per ticket, please contact Alicyn. She will be happy to set up an interview for you with the IE crew at Sunday’s show.

You can reach her by email: ahanford@kingworld.com

Please include the price you paid, how many tickets you bought, the age(s) of your child(ren) and a phone number where you can be reached.

Hannah Montana Tickets

I don't know how the rest of you feel but I am getting very sick of all of the whiners out there who are complaining about not being able to buy Hannah Montana Tickets at face value when they first went on sale. Obviously, there are more than 18,000 fans that want to attend the show at the Target Center, yet I keep hearing complaints about how much the Minnesota Ticket brokers are charging. I have a message to all of those who think that it is their god given right to buy Hannah Montana Tickets at face value, tickets are a market driven commodity and if their is more demand than supply the prices soar. I have made the decision to not buy my daughter tickets because they are being sold for more than I am comfortable spending. My daughter and I have made peace with the fact that we aren't going to the show. I just wish everyone else out there would either spend the money to go or do the same.

Vikings vs. Packers Tickets

My buddy went down to the Metrodome this morning to try and buy a couple of Vikings Tickets for the big game versus Brett Favre and the Packers. He had a budget of $100/ticket and was confident that he would be able to find a couple of seats in the lower level. After walking around the HHH Metrodome for almost two hours, he not only couldn't find lower level tickets for $100, he couldn't find upper level seats for less than $150/ticket. Finally, at kick off, he bought a couple of limited view seats in section 219 for $75/ticket. I bet that he was happy his seats were limited view because maybe he couldn't see the Packers celebrate their victory.

Vikings vs. Packers Ticket Prices Soar

If you didn't snap up Vikings Tickets for their big rivalry game versus the hated Green Bay Packers before last Sunday, you made a mistake. At the end of last week, you could buy Vikings versus Packers Tickets for $69/Ticket. Those same seats are now selling for $129/Ticket. I think that the entire state of Wisconsin is going to jump on 94 and head to the dome in hopes of witnessing history in the making. There is obviously a very good chance that Favre is going to break Dan Marino's touchdown record at the Metrodome on Sunday. With that in mind, if you are interested in seeing the big game, I would put your tail between your legs and buy now because prices are only going up. I just hope that the Vikings defense shuts down Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers so I don't have to see a Packer celebration at the HHH Metrodome.

Dropping Golden Gopher Football Ticket Prices

Out of curiosity, I have been periodically checking Minnesota Golden Gopher Football Ticket prices since they lost to Florida Atlantic last Saturday. One thing is for sure, Minnesota Gopher Football Tickets are much less valuable now than they were last week at this time. They play the Purdue Boilermakers this Saturday at the Metrodome and ticket prices have dropped 50%. It is now possible to buy a seat on the 30 yard line for $49. That same ticket was selling for close to $100 just a week ago.

I am sure that if the Golden Gophers win Saturday, everyone will jump back on the "Gopher Nation" bandwagon and we will see prices go up for the game versus Ohio State on September 29th.

The best prices that I have found on Gopher Football Tickets is at: www.gopherfootballtickets.com

2007 Minnesota Wild Tickets

By the looks of the line that circled the Xcel Energy Center yesterday, Minnesota Wild Tickets are a hot commodity. Single game Wild Tickets went on sale at 9:00 on Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office. I have always gotten a kick out of the people that are willing to camp outside for days in order to buy Minnesota Wild Tickets so I make an annual journey down to the "X" for some good old fashioned people watching. There were definitely more people in line this year than any previous year. I am a huge Minnesota Wild fan but I would rather spend a few extra bucks and buy my Wild Tickets from Ticket King or any of the other online Minnesota Ticket Brokers. Call me a wimp, but I prefer my own bed to the cement outside the Xcel Energy Center.

Cheap Minnesota Vikings Tickets

I went downtown Minneapolis to the Metrodome on Sunday in search of a pair of cheap Minnesota Vikings Tickets. I soon found that it wasn't going to be difficult to find cheap Vikings tickets for their game Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. I was able to buy two lower level end zone tickets for $75.00. Those two seats had a face value of $71/Ticket. It actually made me embarrassed to be a fan of the Minnesota Vikings. My advice to every Minnesota Vikings fan is don't assume that the same type of ticket deals can be had for the Vikings vs. Packers game on 9/30. I am sure that the same type of ticket will be selling for $150/Ticket outside the HHH Metrodome. GO VIKES!!!

Minnesota Golden Gopher Football Tickets

I talked to a representative at Ticket King and it sounds as though they are selling a lot of Gopher Football Tickets for Tim Brewster's inaugural game tonight at the Metrodome. I was having a hard time figuring out why there would be any demand for Golden Gopher Football Tickets until I realized that the game isn't going to be on television. So, if you are interested in watching the Minnesota Gopher Football game tonight @ 7:00, you had better buy a ticket because the game isn't on TV. GO GOPHERS!!!

Hannah Montana at Target Center

I have a hint for all of you parents of girls between the ages of 6 and 15; hide your wallets. Hannah Montana, the hottest kids show to hit the scene since Nsync is scheduled at the Target Center 10/21 at 7:00. The tickets for this Target Center Concert go on sale at the Target Center 9/8 and will definitely sell out in less than 10 minutes. There is a four ticket limit and the show is going to use the standard concert setup. If you aren't lucky enough to get tickets directly from the Target Center, you had better brace yourself for the prices in the after market. I expect that Ticket King will be charging between $125 and $1000 per ticket for Hannah Montana Tickets at the Target Center. If you aren't willing to pay that kind of money, get ready for the whining and begging.

Minnesota Timberwolves Tickets are Cheap

I spent a little time last night checking for Minnesota Timberwolves Tickets on my favorite online ticket sites and came to the conclusion that Timberwolves Tickets are going to be CHEAP this year. It looks like the only games that are currently selling for over the face value are the games versus the Lakers, Heat, Cavaliers and the the Boston Celtics and Kevin Garnett. Unless the Timberwolves surprise everyone, I can't see the ticket prices going up and I am sure that those companies that try to make a living off of selling Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Tickets are going to have a long year. GO TIMBERWOLVES!!!

Minnesota Golden Gophers Football Tickets

I got a call tonight from a buddy who owns Minnesota Golden Gopher Football Season Tickets and he told me that he had received his Gopher Football Tickets in the mail today. Apparently, the Gophers Tickets are really cool looking and much more professional than the 2007 Minnesota Vikings Tickets. Who knows, maybe they will be even a hotter commodity than Vikings Tickets this year. I can't wait to see what the commemorative Gopher Football Tickets look like for the inaugural game at TCF Bank Stadium in a few years. GO GOPHERS!!!

Buy Cheap Vikings Tickets

It is hard to believe, but it is possible to buy Minnesota Vikings Tickets for less than $5 for the game this Friday versus the St. Louis Rams. I know that it is only a preseason game and that the starters will only play one quarter, but let's face it, you can't even buy a movie ticket for $5. If you don't have any plans Friday, grab the entire neighborhood and head down to the HHH Metrodome for some inexpensive NFL action. The game will give everyone a chance to check out first round draft pick Adrian Peterson. There is no way that you will have another opportunity to see a Vikings game this year for only $5. As usual, the best prices that I found were on http://www.vikingstickets.com/

Minnesota Twins Postpone 8/2 Game

The Minnesota Twins postponed their game Thursday afternoon in remembrance of the 35W bridge tragedy. The games versus the Kansas City Royals at the Metrodome has been rescheduled for 8/31 at 1:10 pm. Anyone who currently holds Minnesota Twins Tickets to the postponed game can use their Twins Tickets for the rescheduled date. If you are looking for a full day of Minnesota Twins Baseball, the Minnesota Twins also play the Kansas City Royals at 7:10 the same night.

For more information on the postponement, you should check out my favorite Minnesota Twins blog: Minnesota Twins Fan

WWE at Target Center

WWE is slated to come to the Target Center on 9/9/2007 @ 7:30. This time around, the Target Center actually sold ringside seats for only $30/ticket. It appears as though tickets in ringside section 5 rows 6-15 have a face value of around $30 while tickets in rows 1-5 in the same section are closer to $80. I feel bad for the person who bought row 5 for $80 while the guy sitting directly behind him paid only $30. If you weren't lucky enough to snap up any of the $30 ringside seats this year, keep it in mind next time around. The $30 main floor tickets are by far the best bang for the buck

Minnesota Twins Tickets Becoming Hot

The citizens of the great state of Minnesota have again become believers in the Minnesota Twins which in turn has translated into increased demand for Minnesota Twins Tickets. After the sweep of Oakland, I have been monitoring my favorite online Minneapolis Ticket Broker and have noticed that the Minnesota Twins Ticket inventory has been disappearing while prices have been going up for the remainder of the Minnesota Twins Schedule. If the Twins continue to play well and make a late season run at the playoffs, expect Minnesota Twins Tickets to become this season's hottest commodity. I would buy now and not take your chances.

Minnesota Vikings Tickets

Minnesota Vikings Tickets for the 2007-2008 regular season went on sale this week at the Minnesota Vikings Box Office. For those of you hoping to catch the Vikings versus the Green Bay Packers game at the Metrodome, there is a catch. You have to also buy a ticket to the pre-season game versus the St. Louis Rams in order to get the coveted Vikings versus Packers ticket. This technique is nothing new for the Minnesota Vikings Box Office. For years, the Minnesota Vikings have packaged the marquee games with a pre- season game. That is the only way that the Vikings can continue their sold-out streak. I find it much easier to simply buy the Vikings Tickets for just the game that I want from http://www.vikingstickets.com/.

Damien Rice at the State Theatre

Damien Rice Tickets just went on sale for the Historic State Theatre in Minneapolis today. It didn't appear to sell very fast and there are still very good main floor tickets available directly at the box office. If you are looking for spectacular seats, it is possible to buy front row main floor tickets in the after market for around $150/ticket. That seems like a ton of money for Damien Rice at the State Theatre Tickets but I am not a fan.

Lyle Lovett Switches Venues

What is up with Lyle Lovett switching venues from Northrop Auditorium to the Orpheum Theatre for his show tonight? I contacted the box office at Northrop and I was told that everyone would get comparable seats for the show at the Orpheum when they exchanged their Northrop Auditorium Tickets for Orpheum Theatre Tickets. the math just doesn't work out. There are approximately 80 seats in the first three rows at Northrop and only around 50 in the first three rows at the Orpheum Theatre. I wonder how the decided who would get the shaft? Why did they switch venues? Wouldn't it have been a lot easier to just have the show at Northrop?

Ticket King Announces St. Paul Office Location

My buddy was downtown Saint Paul yesterday and noticed that Ticket King is going to have a location right across the street from the Xcel Energy Center. It is a few doors down from the Eagle Street Grille which is on the corner of 7th. and Kellogg. They must have high hopes for the walk up traffic because I am sure that the rent can't be cheap in such a prime location.

$500 Timberwolves Lower Level Tickets

Just when I thought the Minnesota Timberwolves couldn't cheapen their product more than they already have, my buddy told me that they are offering Minnesota Timberwolves Season Tickets in the lower level for only $500.00. That works out to just over $10/Ticket for a Timberwolves Ticket in the 100 Level. The Minnesota Timberwolves have taken desperation to a whole new level. It is going to be very difficult for them to pretend that their is any demand for their product when they are practically giving away lower level season tickets. I can't imagine how they could lower the price more. Maybe down the road they will actually pay us to come to their games?

Sunday, June 17, 2007

Prince Tickets at Target Center

I called up the guy that I know at Ticket King to get the story on Prince Tickets at the Target Center. He explained to me that there is tons of demand and that there are people from all over the country coming to Minneapolis for the show. I guess that this is his only scheduled show and if you dig Prince, Minneapolis is your only option. I was wrong when I wrote in my Target Center Blog that he would probably play multiple shows. At this point, I would be extremely surprised if there were multiple shows. If you get into Prince and his "freak" show, buy tickets now because they aren't going down in price.

Fergie at Minnesota State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair concert lineup just go a lot better with the addition of Black Eyed Peas star Fergie on 8/25. Tickets to this show went on sale on Saturday and it appears as though you will have to deal with a ticket broker if you want to sit in good seats at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. Remember, it is important to sit in Plaza One in order to really get a good view of the stage. Most of the off center Plaza sections are too much of a side view. Also, I recently read that the Minnesota State Fair is going to switch to full strength beer. So log onto your favorite online ticket site to snap up some Minnesota State Fair Tickets to see Fergie and enjoy the Pronto Pups and beer.

Minnesota Twins Tickets

This weekend the Minnesota Twins take on the Washington Nationals at the Metrodome in the start of inter league play. They have scheduled games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It looks like there is plenty of ticket demand for this series as a whole with Twins Tickets to the game on Saturday being especially tough to find. If the Minnesota Twins win the series this week against the Anaheim Angels, I am sure that the ticket prices will go up on this as well as the rest of inter league play at the HHH Metrodome.

Ticket King Opens Minneapolis Office

I was driving downtown Minneapolis tonight and I noticed a "Coming Soon" sign for Ticket King, a long time Minnesota Ticket Broker, on the corner of Washington Avenue South and Chicago. It really seems like a logical place in Minneapolis to open a Ticket Broker office. The location is only a few blocks from the Metrodome and less than a couple of miles from the Target Center. I am curious to go downtown Saint Paul to see if there are any similar signs on any buildings there. It is nice to know that before too long, I will be able to simply go to the corner of Washington and Chicago to legally buy my tickets.

Disney's High School Musical

Due to the huge amount of demand for Disney's High School Musical last time it was in the Twin Cities, the Children's Theatre has scheduled performances 6/28/2007 through 7/22/2007 of this hit musical. It went on sale Monday and it appears as though they are selling fast. My daughter went to a show during the last run and really enjoyed it. I recommend that you order tickets now instead of waiting and getting shut out. As soon as they start hyping Disney's High School Musical II this summer, all of the tickets will disappear.

You can order tickets at: http://www.childrenstheatre.org/

Minnesota Twins Tickets

My buddy went down to the Minnesota Twins game tonight and was able to buy excellent Twins Tickets with a face value of $44/ticket for only $25/Ticket. He called me and tried to talk me into coming to the game but I had my hands full at home with my kids. I was really surprised to hear that MN Twins Tickets versus the hated Chicago White Sox were selling for less than face value outside the HHH Metrodome. I am sure that Twins Tickets to the matinee game tomorrow at the Metrodome will be selling for even less. My recommendation is to play hooky from work tomorrow and check out the Minnesota Twins - one of the hottest teams in baseball.

Minnesota Zoo Tickets

Tickets to the Minnesota Zoo Shows went on sale yesterday and appear to be a hot commodity. I talked to a buddy who actually went to the Minnesota Zoo to wait in line for Guster Tickets. There were 250 people in line for the various concert ticket on sales and he was 186th. He ended up getting lousy seats in row R of the Left section. It sounds like the Minnesota Zoo Ticket office wasn't prepared for amount of people in line and the it was run very inefficiently. My buddy said that he would have been much better off just paying the service fees on Ticketmaster or buying tickets from a Ticket Broker. My recommendation is to not venture out to Apple Valley next year and instead utilize the Internet to buy your Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater Tickets.

Goo Goo Dolls Tickets

Those of you that aren't into Country music but still want to catch a show at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand are in luck this year. The Goo Goo Dolls are playing at the Minnesota State Fair on Friday 8/24/2207 and I am sure that these will be a sought after Minnesota State Fair Tickets. It is nice to see that the people in charge of scheduling the Minnesota State Fair Concerts haven't forgotten those people that would rather drink battery acid than go to a country show. Check out the Goo Goo Dolls at the Minnesota State Fair, it is as close to an outdoor venue as we have in Minnesota.

Five For Fighting Tickets

I just checked online and Ticket King has two of the most sought after tickets in the history of Minnesota Tickets. They currently have two tickets to the Five For Fighting concert at the Guthrie Theatre this Saturday. Ticket King Minnesota has 11Th. row main floor seats for $199/Ticket and I am sure that they won't last very long. If you are dying for tickets to this show, I would snap them up now.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Minnesota Vikings Tickets

I was amazed to find that Vikings Tickets for the game on 9/9 had dropped to $19/Ticket. MN Vikings Ticket prices that cheap seem crazy considering that it is the home opener and they are playing Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons. It feels like only a few years ago that you couldn't touch a Minnesota Vikings NFL Ticket for less than $49/Ticket. I wouldn't be surprised if there are TV Blackouts this year due to the lack of Minnesota Vikings Ticket demand. It would really stink to not be able to watch the Vikings on TV this year.

Bon Jovi and more at Summerfest

The most recent Bon Jovi tour has been a big hit across the country. In fact, he is coming to several Midwest music festivals this summer including Milwaukee Summerfest. You can get tickets pretty cheap and see a lot of really good music in one place. Summerfest runs from June 28th through July 8th and it is the 40th anniversary of the big festival so the music is sure to be top notch! Headliners include Steely Dan, Def Leppard, The Fray, Ludacris, Roger Waters, John Mayer, Tool, Bon Jovi on July 5th and ending the festival will be country rocker Toby Keith. Marcus Amphitheatre is a great spot to see a rockin show, but be sure to get your Milwaukee Summerfest tickets now because they are sure to be a hot summertime commodity!

Minnesota Twins Ticket Prices Dropping

My buddy went down to the Minnesota Twins vs. Detroit Tigers game yesterday and was able to buy two great Twins Tickets for much less than face value. He found seats just twelve rows up in Section 132 for only $25/Ticket. I was very surprised that MN Twins Tickets twelve rows up over the Twins dugout were so cheap considering they were playing the Tigers. I can only imagine how cheap they were for the Twins game at the Hubert Humphrey Metrodome on Mother's Day. It seems like Sunday evening games are always a cheap seat. I am sure that if the Minnesota Twins don't get their act together on the field, the market for the tickets will continue to drop and the prices will follow.

Wednesday, May 9, 2007

Minnesota Twins Tickets

I was extremely surprised to find out that it is possible to purchase Minnesota Twins Tickets for the game versus the Chicago White Sox tomorrow for less than face value. Shouldn't any Minnesota Twins game versus the Chicago White Sox at the Metrodome be a big ticket? If you are looking for an excuse to call in sick from work, great seats for less than face value for a Twins versus White Sox game is a perfect reason. GO TWINS!!!

Ticket Scalping Is Legal In Minnesota

I never thought that I would see the day when ticket scalping was legal in the state of Minnesota but that is exactly what is going to happen starting July 1, 2007. Unless Governor Pawlenty decides to veto the bill that legalizes scalping, there will be Minnesota Ticket Brokers surrounding the Xcel Energy Center, Target Center and the Metrodome that are able to charge over the face value of the ticket. I am glad that Minnesota finally realized that ticket scalping is a victimless crime. I am very interested to see whether Ticket King, a long time Hudson Ticket Broker, will move its operation to Minnesota.

2007 Minnesota Vikings Tickets

I recently looked into the Minnesota Vikings Ticket market and it appears as though Minnesota Ticket Brokers aren't expecting much from the Minnesota Vikings this year. For example, Vikings Tickets for their opening home game on 9/9/2007 start at only $29.00/Ticket. That is crazy cheap for a regular season Minnesota Vikings game versus Michael Vick and the rest of the Atlanta Falcons. It is probably a good idea to buy your Vikings Tickets now just in case the Vikings are a better football team than expected and the ticket prices soar.

Great Deals on Rod Stewart Tickets

If you haven't purchased Rod Stewart Tickets yet for the show at the Xcel Energy Center on 4/25/2007 you are in luck. It looks like there are still great deals on excellent tickets for this show. It is possible to buy tickets on the main floor for less than the regular face value and still get them in time for the show. When I first saw that he was performing in the round at the Xcel Energy Center, I had a feeling that tickets wouldn't be selling for big bucks the day before the show but I had no idea that they would be this cheap. I am sure the show will be solid and tickets are cheap so I can't see any reason you shouldn't snap up some seats for this St. Paul Concert. Remember, the Xcel Energy Center is a great place to see a show!

Cheap April Minnesota Twins Tickets

If you are interested in catching a Minnesota Twins baseball game, you can find very affordable options for the remaining April games. It looks like it is actually cheaper to buy Minnesota Twins Tickets from a Minnesota Ticket Broker than from the Minnesota Twins Ticket Office. I found lower level seats starting at only $9/Ticket for next weeks games against the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals. Those same seats sell for closer to $20/Ticket at the Minnesota Twins Ticket. You should take advantage of the low prices now because starting with the series versus the Boston Red Sox, it appears as though there are very few bargains to be had. Enjoy a Minnesota Twins game at the HHH Metrodome for only $9/Ticket.

Minnesota Wild Playoff Tickets

I am sorry to keep talking about the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Wild Playoff Tickets but there really isn't much going on in the Twin Cities ticket market right now. I just checked out www.minnesotawildtickets.com and you can get into the MN Wild game tonight for only $39/Ticket. Those same seats were selling for $99/Ticket before the Minnesota Wild laid an egg. Just like prices go up when a team wins, the prices go down when a team losses. It sounds like if you are still interested in checking out the Wild tonight you can buy seats online and pick up the tickets tonight right by the Xcel Energy Center.

Minnesota Wild Playoff Ticket Prices Dropping

I checked the status of the Minnesota Wild Playoff Ticket market and it appears as though the prices have really dropped for the game on 4/17 at the Xcel Energy Center. The very best lower level center ice seats that were selling for $299/Ticket yesterday are now selling for $259/Ticket. The only explanation that I can muster is that the game is being played on a Tuesday and that really screws up the demand. If this series goes to six games, look out for the price jump for the game on Saturday, April 21st. Minnesota Wild fans love Saturday evening games. GO WILD!!!

Minnesota Wild Playoff Dates Announced

The NHL announced the NHL Playoff Round One dates for the Minnesota Wild. Their home games at the Xcel Energy Center are 4/15 at 7:00, 4/17 at 8:00 and 4/21. It looks like seats just to get in for the game on 4/15 are going for $99/Ticket while tickets to the game on 4/17 start at $89/Ticket and tickets to the game on 4/21 start at $109/Ticket. The last time that the Minnesota Wild made it to the playoffs, the prices just kept going up so I would buy your tickets now and don't gamble that they will get cheaper. Also, be careful buying tickets outside of the Xcel Energy Center the day of the games. When tickets are this valuable, the scumbags that sell fake seats tend to come out of the woodwork.

Inexpensive Harry Connick Jr. Tickets

For those of you who didn't snap up Harry Connick Jr. Tickets for the show tonight at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, Don't worry. I just checked online and seats are selling for less than face value and it looks like you can pick them up at Will-Call. I found eight seats together on the floor in row M for only $69/Ticket. That is a great deal considering that the same seats at the Historic Orpheum Theatre were selling for more than twice that amount a few weeks ago when I checked. It is not too late to get seats for Harry Connick's show tonight in Minneapolis but don't wait because at those prices, they won't last.

Minnesota Wild Playoff Tickets

Minnesota Wild Playoff Tickets were sent out this week to all Minnesota Wild Season Ticket Holders who chose to order them. The face value for the first round is very similar to the regular season face value. For example, lower level center ice seats that cost $74/Ticket for the regular season at the Xcel Energy Center are $88/Ticket for the first round of the playoffs and $100/Ticket for the second round. By the looks of what people are charging for those same seats, the Minnesota Wild could have gotten away with charging a lot more. They are currently being sold for around $250/Ticket for the first two games of the playoffs. I am definitely jealous of Minnesota Wild Season Ticket Holders.

Twins vs. Orioles Tickets Very Affordable

I was very surprised to log on to the my favorite ticket website and find Minnesota Twins Tickets versus the Baltimore Orioles for Opening Day starting at only $29/Ticket. The game was totally sold out at the Minnesota Twins Ticket Office and Johan Santana was pitching which generally means big buck$ for tickets. The only logical explanation that I can come up with is that people stayed home to watch the NCAA Final Four. I am very curious to see what happens to the Minnesota Twins Ticket market due to the increased amount of season tickets that were sold. Only time will tell.

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES TICKETS

The season is completely lost for the Minnesota Timberwolves yet tickets to the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Heat game are still expensive. I know it is hard to believe but there are very few good options available online for this game and the tickets that are on the market are selling for over face value. The only logical explanation is that people want to see Shaq. There can't be people in Minnesota that are interested in paying big money to see the MN Timberwolves. My recommendation is that if you actually want to see the Timberwolves and you don't care if you see the Miami Heat, pick a different game. The Minnesota Ticket Brokers can't give away tickets to any other game.

MINNESOTA TWINS OPENER SELLS OUT

It doesn't happen often, but the Minnesota Twins are sold out for their season opener on April 2nd. It feels like there are huge expectations for this team and that definitely has been evident by the record amount of Minnesota Twins Season Tickets that have been sold this year. Generally, when there are tons of season ticket holders, it becomes much easier to buy tickets online or outside the venue. I am sure that if the Minnesota Twins stumble out of the gate, the extra supply will cause the prices to really plummet. All I can say is that I feel bad for at least 20,000 of the people that bought tickets to the Minnesota Twins season opening game because their view of the game at the Metrodome will be the worst vantage point possible for watching a MLB game. GO TWINKIES!!!

BREW CITY TICKETS IS IN THE HOUSE

I just got word that I have a Ticket Blog pal. There is a brand new Ticket Blog on the scene named Brew City Tickets. I checked out his blog and he doesn't have many entries but the few that he does have are very informative and fun to read. He, as I do in Minnesota, seems to have his finger on the ticket pulse of Milwaukee. I hope that he continues in his quest to inform every reader about the what's up with the Milwaukee ticket scene. Who knows, first Minnesota, then Wisconsin, then...

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES TICKETS

I talked to my buddy who sells Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Tickets outside the Target Center before each game and he told me that he has never seen less demand for Timberwolves Tickets than today's game versus the Portland Trail Blazers. He was happy to sell each Timberwolves Ticket for 1/4 the face value. At this point of the season you are better off just taking your shot at buying your Timberwolves Tickets outside the Target center versus buying them ahead of time from an online broker. There is virtually no chance that the tickets will be going for more the day of the game than they are being sold for in advance.

Saturday, March 24, 2007

BARGAINS ON TIMBERWOLVES TICKETS

If you are an NBA fan and you don't really care that the Minnesota Timberwolves are having a mediocre year, there are excellent bargains on tickets to the next two Timberwolves games. It is possible to get into tomorrow's game versus the Portland Trail Blazers for as little as $9.00/Ticket. I was even able to find 4th row VIP Tickets for 1/2 of the season ticket holder face value. The prices on tickets for the game on March 27th versus the Seattle Supersonics were similar. I may have to grab my kids and check out one of these Minnesota Timberwolves games. I am a sucker for a bargain and an NBA game for $9.00 is definitely a bargain. I don't even care that the Minnesota Timberwolves stink.

MINNESOTA WILD NHL PLAYOFF TICKETS

It won't be long before Minnesota Wild Playoff Tickets hit the market. If the market is anything like it was the last time that the Minnesota Wild reached the NHL Playoffs, you are going to have to get a second mortgage on your house to go to a game. Keep in mind that the prices generally go up as the team advances further into the playoffs. My guess is that the prices will go up around $50/Ticket each round that the Minnesota Wild advances to. I wouldn't wait for prices to drop as there are too many season ticket holders who wouldn't sell their tickets for any price. Nothing is better than the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the Wild will be one of 16 teams competing for the Stanley Cup.

TIM MCGRAW & FAITH HILL @ XCEL ENERGY CENTER

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are coming to the Xcel Energy Center on June 8th for one show only. The fact that they are only doing one show will cause the prices to stay high on this show. Last year, they did two shows and you could buy great seats for less than face value well in advance of the shows. Keep in mind that the show is in the round so there are four times as many seats in each row on the floor. That being said , you shouldn't have to pay crazy money for a great main floor seat. Also, in my mind, the elevated seats in the center lower level sections are the best value and are the best vantage point for watching the show. I did some shopping around and it looks like you can buy great seats for around $175/Ticket and very good seats for around $145/Ticket. My recommendation is that you should buy sooner than later.

WCHA FINAL FIVE TICKETS

I am sure that organizers of the WCHA Final Five in St. Paul breathed a huge sigh of relief when the Minnesota Gophers beat Alaska Anchorage to advance to the tournament this weekend at the Xcel Energy Center. The tickets will be a hot commodity this year due to the fact that all but one of the teams in the tournament are from schools that are relatively close to the Twin Cities. The fans of North Dakota, Wisconsin, St. Cloud and Minnesota can obviously all easily drive to the tourney which should drive up the attendance as well as the prices. If you want to see the Golden Gophers play on Friday, I would buy your tickets now. If Wisconsin wins their play-in game on Thursday, they will face off against the Gophers on Friday. Any border battle game between the Gophers and Badgers is an untouchable ticket. Don't miss your chance to see some great college hockey action this weekend at the Xcel Energy Center.

Thursday, March 8, 2007

ROGER WATERS AT XCEL ENERGY CENTER

Roger Waters is coming to the Twin Cities on June 30th. I have a buddy who caught the show in Chicago and he said that it was basically like going to a Pink Floyd show. The tickets aren't very expensive right now but that may change if people in Minneapolis/St. Paul figure out that going to a Roger Waters show is like going to a Pink Floyd show. I would make sure that you buy tickets now for the Xcel Energy Center show from Ticketmaster or from a local Minnesota Ticket Broker like Ticket King. You can get great lower level seats right by the stage for around $200/ticket. If you are lucky enough to buy them from Ticketmaster, the same seats would cost you $110/ticket. Keep in mind, if this show was actually going to be a Pink Floyd show, it would probably take place at the Metrodome.

MINNESOTA HIGH SCHOOL STATE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT TICKETS

The Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament starts tomorrow at the Xcel Energy Center and the tickets are a hot commodity. The Friday evening session is the toughest ticket. I was told by a representative at Ticket King that tickets start at $49 and that the reason for it being such a big ticket is that Edina is going to play in that session. I guess that the "cake eaters" are willing to pay big bucks to see their High School team play. I can only imagine how expensive the next rounds will be if Edina wins. If you are a hockey fan, The Xcel Energy Center is where you want to be this weekend. The games will be filled with future D-1 hockey players but you are going to have to be willing to pay like you are going to a D-1 college hockey game.

KENNY CHESNEY SOLD OUT XCEL ENERGY CENTER

Kenny Chesney is visiting St. Paul on May 13th. He has one scheduled show at the Xcel Energy Center and it is already sold out. He has schedule multiple shows in most cities but for some reason he is only here for one show. Historically, Minneapolis/St. Paul gets fired up for country shows. I wouldn't be surprised if they add another Kenny Chesney Concert. There are open dates before and after May 13th. There must be huge demand because tickets are going for big buck$ in the after market right now.

THE POLICE IN CONCERT AT XCEL ENERGY CENTER

The big concert news in Minneapolis/St. Paul is that The Police are going to perform at Xcel Energy Center on July 3rd. The tickets go on sale this coming Monday at all Ticketmaster locations. The premium seats for this concert have a face value of $250/ticket while the seats in the nosebleed sections are $65/ticket. The setup for the concert is the end stage setup and they are also going to sell tickets behind the stage. When a concert tour sells tickets behind the stage, it usually means that the stage is wide open. The face value of the tickets in the lower level behind the stage is $100/ticket. Those seats are probably the best value and have the potential of having an excellent view of the stage. I would definitely try hard to get seats when they go on sale because I am sure that the market will be very hot after it sells out. All I know is this will be a great show at the X!!!

MINNESOTA WILD TICKET WEBSITE

I found a great site for buying tickets to the Minnesota Wild. If you are dying for a good resource for Wild Tickets, check out www.minnesotawildtickets.com. From talking to them, I learned that they will even have Minnesota Wild Playoff Tickets once the games are announced. They are locally owned and definitely have the largest selection as well as the lowest prices on Minnesota Wild Tickets. If you give them any business, please tell them that the Twin Cities Tickets Guy sent you. Maybe they will give me a couple of Wild Tickets for the referral.

MINNESOTA GOPHERS HOCKEY TICKETS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND

I learned a valuable lesson this year. I am never going to wait until the last second to buy Minnesota Golden Gophers Hockey Tickets. I need a few tickets for this weekends game at Mariucci Arena and there are absolutely zero options available right now. If I can't find seats for this weekends game versus St. Cloud State, I am going to have to wait until the WCHA playoffs or the WCHA Final Five to check out my favorite college hockey team. My advice for anyone interested in buying Gophers Hockey Tickets is to buy them at the beginning of the year when their is more supply and lower prices. GO GOPHERS!!!

Monday, February 19, 2007

MINNESOTA WILD TICKETS FOR 2/20 ARE REASONABLE

I was very surprised to find that tickets to the Minnesota Wild vs. Dallas Stars game are going for very reasonable prices. I found seats starting at only $39.00 for this big rivalry. There are seats in the lower level for as little as $79.00. All things considered, these prices seemed very cheap. The only explanation that I can come up with is that the game is on a Tuesday. I am sure that if this game had been last weekend, the prices would have been almost double what they are going for now. Don't miss your chance to catch one of the biggest rivalries in the NHL. GO WILD!!!

HARRY CONNICK JR. COMING TO MINNEAPOLIS

If anyone is looking for a great date night, Harrick Connick Jr. is coming to the Orpheum Theatre on 4/5/2007. I just checked Ticketmaster and there are only a few nose-bleed seats available for approximately $90. Through various online ticket brokers, I found great seats ranging from $175 all the way up to $400. The Historic Orpheum Theatre is a great venue for this type of show and I am sure that Harry Connick Jr. and his Big Band won't disappoint. You should check out this show if you have the opportunity.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS TICKETS

It is hard to believe but the Minnesota Vikings sent out their Vikings season ticket renewal forms this week. This year is the first time in many years that the Vikings haven't drastically raised the season ticket prices. Some of the season ticket prices actually went down while the other seats either stayed the same or were raised $5 or less per ticket. The Minnesota Vikings home schedule includes games against the San Diego Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. Even though the Minnesota Vikings aren't supposed to be very good, their opponents will help sell their tickets. If you think that you are going to want to see a Minnesota Vikings game this year and you aren't particular about your seats, the Vikings have season tickets starting at just $196.10/season ticket. SKOL VIKINGS!!!

Sunday, February 11, 2007

MINNESOTA GOLDEN GOPHERS HOCKEY TEAM

It is hard to believe but the WCHA season is almost over. The Minnesota Golden Gophers Hockey team has a home and home series with St. Cloud State on 2/23 and 2/24 and then two home games versus Michigan Tech on 3/2 and 3/3. The following weekend, the WCHA playoffs start with a best of three series at Mariucci Arena. If the Golden Gophers Hockey team wins their series, they will play in the WCHA Final Five at the Xcel Energy Center. So by my count, if you want to see the Minnesota Golden Gophers Hockey Team in action this year, you only have about 10 more chances. Say "hi" to Goldy Gopher for me!

Saturday, February 10, 2007

GWEN STEFANI COMING TO XCEL ENERGY CENTER

Gwen Stefani tickets went on sale today for her 6/5 show at the Xcel Energy Center. The face value for the best seats was around $80/Ticket. The premium main floor seats were sold on Will Call only basis. The main floor tickets can only be picked up the day of the show at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office. I assume that this was done in an attempt to stop the brokering of her tickets. She should probably get over herself. I don't think that her floor tickets would sell for that much in the after market anyway. If you dig Gwen Stefani and want to catch her show at the Xcel Energy Center, don't plan on buying floor seats from a broker.

2007-2008 MINNESOTA VIKINGS TICKETS

Maybe the Minnesota Vikings Ticket Office reads my blog? I wrote a few weeks ago that the Vikings had better be smart and not raise ticket prices or they would lose season ticket holders. The Vikings just announced that 2/3 of all of the seats in the Metrodome will either stay the same or actually go down in price for the 2007-2008 season. They also announced that they will be offering a season ticket in the upper rows of the end zone for $196.10 as a tribute to their 1961 inaugural season. Finally a pro franchise that understands their market and doesn't make decisions solely based on dollars and cents. Bravo Minnesota Vikings!

6 Cool Things In Music

There is a feature in the Minneapolis Star Tribune called "Pick six: A half-dozen cool things in music." The segment is one of my favorite short articles to read on Sunday mornings. It gives you a quick preview of what's hot in music right now and it's from an editorial point of view, which makes it more interesting that just your run of the mill "what's happening" story.

This week, the pick sixers of Susan Sandberg and Jon Bream talked about:
1: Carrie Underwood
2. TicketKingOnline.com
3. Target TV ads
4. Paolo Nutini
5. Pink
6. Dixie Chicks
A wide array of topics for such a short article. Sandberg commented on what a surprise it was to see Carrie Underwood beef up her sweet girl image and rock out with a little Guns 'n Roses tune at Mystic Lake on New Years Eve. Sandberg also mentions the Target TV advertising campaign and how fresh it is to see it infused with great music and she comments on a local ticket broker, Ticket King, as the best place to find tickets to a concert. I have to agree with Sandberg on all accounts! Carrie Underwood is definitely becoming a super star musical talent and I watch the Ticket King web site www.ticketkingonline.com like a hawk because they really do have the best concert and sporting event tickets for the Twin Cities!

If you want to read this weeks segment, here's the link to the story: http://www.startribune.com/457/story/975053.html

SOMETIMES IT SUCKS TO LIVE IN MINNESOTA

My buddy who is a Chicago Bears fan called me yesterday to taunt me that he is sitting on the beach in Miami drinking a Corona and waiting to go to the Super Bowl. When the phone rang and I saw his number on my caller ID, I knew what the purposes of his phone call were. He wanted to let me know that my favorite NFL team stinks and that we are a long way away from a Super Bowl run and to tell me that it was almost 100 degrees colder in Minnesota than in Miami. Both of those facts SUCK. Not to be a baby, but WHY AM I NOT IN MIAMI WATCHING THE VIKINGS IN THE SUPER BOWL? Maybe next year or the following year or the year after that…

TICKET SCALPING TO BECOME LEGAL IN MINNESOTA?

There is currently a bill in committee that would make selling tickets at over face value legal in Minnesota. I am very curious to see whether this bill will become a law. The author of the bill argues that tickets should be treated like any other commodity in a free market society. The opponents worry that it will cause after market prices to go up because more people will buy tickets in order to sell them at over face value and make some buck$. I don't know which side of the fence that I am on. All I know is that it would be really weird to pay over face value at a Target Center or Xcel Energy Center event and not fell like I was in the middle of a drug deal on Lake street. Times may be changing in the Twins Cities!

MINNESOTA GOLDEN GOPHERS FOOTBALL TICKETS

I was surprised to find that Minnesota Gophers Football Tickets are available already. The Gophers Football schedule is really good this year. It features games against Big 10 power houses Ohio State and Wisconsin as well as a visit by the North Dakota State Bison. Historically, tickets to the Gophers games against Wisconsin and Ohio State are really hard to come by. If for some reason Tim Brewster gets this team to play well, seats to those two games could be impossible to find. Last year, tickets to the game against the Bison became a hot commodity. It practically turned into a home game for North Dakota State. Don't miss any of the Golden Gophers Football action this year. GO GOPHERS!!!

My buddy just started a Minnesota Golden Gophers Blog. Check it out if you get a chance: www.goldengophers.blogspot.com

ROD STEWART COMING TO ST. PAUL

I have good news for everyone addicted to Rod Stewart and classics like "If You Want My Body" & "Hot Legs". The legendary rocker is coming to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul for one show only on 4/25/2007. The word is that the show will be in the round which guarantees that you can score decent seats. Keep in mind, shows that are in the round are generally easier to get seats up close so don't pay big bucks early. I bet that the prices will come down closer to the show.

Wild vs. Stars tickets tough to find

The Minnesota Wild versus the Dallas Stars continues to be one of the toughest tickets to find in the Twin Cities. It feels like year after year, the people of Minnesota get more fired up for these games than any other Wild games. I talked to a friend who went down to the Xcel Energy Center at about 7:00 on Saturday and couldn't find a seat for less than $75. I was told that lower level seats were going for at least $100/ticket. At the beginning of the year, I circled this game on the schedule the Minnesota Wild game that would have the biggest ticket demand. By the looks of things, I was correct. I can only imagine how big of a ticket it would have been if the Minnesota Wild had been playing up to expectations.

The remaining Minnesota Wild games that have the most potential to be impossible to find are the games on 1/26, 2/10, 2/25, 3/11 & 4/7. Unfortunately, if the Wild doesn't get their act together, none of their tickets will be sought after. GO WILD!!!

Timberwolves VIP seats are overpriced

I think that it has finally gotten to a point where the Minnesota Timberwolves have priced their VIP seats out of the market. I have noticed that the online brokers are selling tickets with a face value of $250 for $200 or less for most of the games. This tells me that not only isn't there a market for those tickets at the face value but there is barely a market for those seats at less than the face value. Until the Timberwolves organization either make the amenities more attractive for these seats or lower the prices they are going to experience increased difficulty in selling theses as season tickets. Frankly, who can afford to own these as season tickets? I know that when I have had the opportunity to sit in them, I am less than impressed with the waiter/waitress service and would have been just as happy sitting a few rows higher for 1/2 the price.

There is a new Minnesota Timberwolves blog that I stumbled on that seems good. If you get a chance check out this Minnesota Timberwolves blog.

Gophers Football tickets will become a big deal

My prediction is that Minnesota Golden Gophers tickets will become a very sought after ticket beginning the year that they move into their new on campus stadium. The fact that they hired a new coach who feels like much more of a "company man" than Mason ever was will definitely help promote the Gophers Football program. The improved public image coupled with the new stadium holding 15,000 less seats will cause Golden Gophers Football tickets to be hard to find. My recommendation is that if you are even mildly interested in Gophers Football you should secure season tickets now before it is too late. GO GOPHS!!!

I am dying for a playoff run

I don't know it I am the only fan dying for a playoff run for one of our teams but it sure would be fun. I am getting tired of watching other cities celebrate a long playoff run or professional sports championship. We were teased last fall by the Minnesota Twins with their short playoff run. Give me a break, getting swept by the Oakland Athletics was like getting punched in the gut. Would one of our teams please get dominant so that we can rally around them. Not to be pessimistic, but I feel like our only hope is the Minnesota Wild. Wouldn't it be fun to watch an NHL game in May? I am sorry to be a baby but I am just sick of not being able to attend a meaningful game for the Wild, Timberwolves, Gophers, Vikings or Twins. Anyone, please win!

"Go, Diego, Go, Live" is heading to Minneapolis

For those of you who are looking for something entertaining to do with your kids, Diego and the Dora crew are heading to the Twin Cities for five days of entertaining action. The show is performing at the Historic State Theatre from March 7th to March 11th. I know I will be there with my "Map" and "Backpack" and of course my darling daughters, too.

If you haven't seen a kids show recently, they have really come a long way since the days of Sesame Street. They generally do an excellent job of adding some "grown up" humor into the show. There have been a couple of times in the past when I actually enjoyed the show more than my kids did. So, grab your kids and check out "Go, Diego, Go, Live!" at the State Theatre in Minneapolis this March. Don't forget to tell Swiper "no swiping."

Minnesota Twins Spring Training is right around the corner

All of you that are ready to escape the Minnesota winter are in for a treat. You can now snap up tickets to the spring training games in Ft. Myers, Florida. Nothing is better than sitting out in the sun, drinking a beer and watching the present and future stars of the Minnesota Twins play a spring training game. The last time that I went to watch the Minnesota Twins in spring training, we stayed at the Vanderbilt Inn in Naples, Florida. It was perfect! The beach was great, the room was fine and it was only 20 minutes from Hammond Stadium. The best thing was that a ticket only cost $7. My experience with Hammond Stadium is that there is literally not a bad seat in the house. Definitely don't get sucked into paying big bucks for a seat over the dugout. Don't forget me if you have an extra plane ticket this year. I am dying to catch Morneau, Mauer and the boys in Fort Myers. GO TWINS!!!

If you haven't checked out this Minnesota Twins blog yet, you should! It isn't your typical Minnesota Twins blog.

Billy Joel is coming to the Twin Cities

As a huge music fan, I have good news for those who don't already know. Billy Joel Is coming to St. Paul on 5/9/2007 for one show at the Xcel Energy Center. He was last here a few years ago and he actually did two shows. Not only is he doing just one show, he has dropped his highest ticket price from $250 down to $100. All things considered, that isn't so bad. It looks like there was recently some sort of presale for the tickets on Ticketmaster. The online brokers currently have excellent seats starting at $149/ticket. If my memory serves me correctly, that same type of seat for the last two shows sold for much higher. It officially goes on sale to the general public this Saturday. I am assuming that the show will sell out instantly.

If you are interested in catching legendary rock and roll man Billy Joel in concert at the Xcel Energy Center, it might not be a bad idea to snap up some after market seats now. As always, I found the best prices on Ticket King - they clearly own the Twin Cities market and since they are local, they must have more sources than the other national guys. In my mind, they were a little too proud of their main floor seats ($800+ per seat!). I don't think that Billy Joel tickets can still fetch the big dollars. Who knows, it is only money. CAN'T GO WRONG WITH BILLY JOEL! Now, I will be singing "Piano Man" all day!

Minnesota Wild Mania

It is official, the Minnesota Wild are a big deal. I noticed in the past that ticket prices have been dropping the day before each Minnesota Wild game. This weekends game versus the Colorado Avalanche has been the exception to that trend. The prices have basically stayed the same and tickets are disappearing at a fast pace. My hunch is that this is the start of Minnesota Wild mania. It is definitely hockey season now that the Vikings were put out of their misery. The return of Gaborik to the ice and the fact that the team is practically unbeatable have both been factors in the strong Minnesota Wild ticket market. From one fan to another, here is my advice: Don't wait to buy your Minnesota Wild tickets because the prices are only going up! GO WILD!!!

Dancing with Stars tickets at Xcel Energy Center selling cheap

If you are looking for something to do tonight in St. Paul, tickets to Dancing with the Stars are cheap with a capital C. I did some online browsing and found great seats for 1/2 of the original face value. It looks like Xcel Energy Center tickets for this show are far cheaper than any other venue in the country. The same type of seat at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee is selling for four times the price. Grab your kids or a babysitter for your kids and head down to the X tonight for cheap seats to a unique event.

Buy your Minnesota Wild tickets now

If you are at all interested in catching a Minnesota Wild game this year, you had better buy now. It feels like the Minnesota Wild got their slump out of the way and are going to get back to their early season form. According to mnwildfreak, "Minnesota Wild has their moxie back." Rumor has it that Gaborik is going to suit up Saturday. I agree with Wildpuckbanter, "All indications are that Marian Gaborik and his groin will return to the Minnesota Wild lineup tomorrow night against the Nordiques." He went on to say, "This is huge for the Wild." If they do continue in their winning ways, you can expect the ticket prices to go drastically higher. Keep in mind, the Minnesota Vikings are done and people are going to need someplace to spend their entertainment dollars. The most attractive option is definitely the Wild. We all know what happens when there is more demand than supply. So buy your Wild tickets now. Welcome back Gaborik & GO WILD!!!

Vikings vs Rams tickets were cheap the day of the game

I ventured down the Vikings game on Sunday to check out the ticket market. After having a couple of beers and a great sandwich at Maxwell's I decided to walk around the dome and see what seats were selling for. It wasn't extremely easy to find extra tickets but the ones that I found were selling for around 1/2 of the face value. In years past, I have noticed that there aren't a ton of seats available on the street for the last Vikings game of the year. I think this is due to the fact that people basically have from August to December to either sell them, give them away or make plans to go. One "street broker" that I encountered, had 4 tickets in the lower level on the 50 yardline that he was willing to sell me for $75/ticket. He also had 2 pairs of tickets in the upper level end zone that he was selling for $20/ticket. I decided that I would rather just watch the game from the comforts of my own home. As I was heading back to my car, I thought to myself that the face value of Minnesota Vikings tickets has gotten out of hand. I long for the days when you could take your family to the game for less than $100. Who knows, if the Vikings don't get their acts together, those days may not be too far down the road.
