Note to Minnesota Vikings top brass: Don't raise ticket prices next year
Unfortuantely, I am not a high paid consultant to all NFL teams but I do know something about the Minnesota Vikings football ticket market. I have one bit of advice for the Vikings big wigs - you had better not raise ticket prices. After this disasterous season, and year after year of steady ticket increases, the season ticket holders are fed up. I have talked to countless Minnesota Vikings season ticket holders who have told me that if there is an increase next year they are going to drop their season tickets. I understand raising prices, but when the product got worse, the Vikes have no justification for a price increase. If anything, they should, as an act of good will, lower the prices for season ticket holders. That would probably help them in their quest for a new stadium. I am sure that all of the Vikings season ticket holders will gladly pay more the year after the team goes to the Super Bowl. Here’s to hoping that the Vikings front office isn't short sighted and we don’t revert back to the days of TV blackouts due to lack of ticket sales. BE SMART VIKINGS FRONT OFFICE!

Minnesota Gophers women's basketball tickets are inexpensive
I never knew that you could buy Minnesota Golden Gophers women's basketball tickets in the aftermarket. I found great seats for Big 10 games for as little as $14.95/ticket. Like always, Ticket King had the best prices and seems to own all of the available tickets. The most expensive ticket that I found was for the game against national power Ohio State on February 8th at Williams Arena. You can sit in the lower level just off center court for $69.95/ticket. That is a killer seat for that price. If you haven't seen a women's Golden Gophers game, it is time that you do. There is no other collegiate athlete that plays as hard as Golden Gophers women's basketball players do. It is everything that is right about college sports and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to go. Go Gophers!!!
Minnesota Vikings vs. St. Louis Rams ticket prices are plummeting!
All i can say is CHEAP,CHEAP & CHEAP! The vikings ticket prices are super low for the last game of the year. Now that the Minnesota Vikes season is lost, there are plenty of bargains to be had on the ticket front. I found lower level seats for as little as $49.95 and upper level seats for less than 20 bucks. Not bad for a regular season game. If you are looking for seats, I would wait. It feels like there is plenty of supply and I can't imagine any reason that the demand would pick up. The Vikings have been a huge disappointment this year and the Rams don't have the drawing power that they once had. I guarantee that the HHH Metrodome will be less than full because there will be plenty of people that stay home with their HHH Metrodome tickets. As a Vikings fan, I can't wait for the season to be over. It is hard to say, but I actually hope the Vikings lose so that the dreaded Pack doesn't go to the playoffs and so that we get a better draft pick. Hesitantly, GO RAMS!!!

The holidays are good to those in the ticket business!
I have noticed a large amount of tickets disappearing off of the numerous online ticket broker sites in the last week or so for all of the upcoming events. I also had a quick talk with with my favorite street ticket broker outside of the Timberwolves game tonight. He explained to me that when there are people in town for the holidays, ticket demand definitely picks up. Both of these things make total sense. People are always looking for something to do, other than staring at their great aunt and her mole, over the holidays. It looks to me that it doesn't even matter what is going on. For example, Minnesota Timberwolves tickets vs. the Milwaukee Bucks tonight were going for face value or more. If this game had been a few days earlier, the owners of the tickets wouldn't have been able to give them away. The Minnesota Wild game this Saturday is also a really big deal. MN Wild tickets for this game are virtually untouchable unless you are willing to pay big $. Next year, don't get left out in the cold over the holidays and buy your event tickets early. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Ticket King owns the majority of the Twin Cities event tickets offered online
I spent a few hours last night checking out the website of various ticket brokers and I was able to figure a few things out. First of all, basically every online ticket broker has the identical inventory yet the prices vary from one site to the other. Secondly, it looks to me like Ticket King owns the majority of the inventory in the Twins Cities. If you check out their site, their logo is next to every set of seats that they own and it appears as though they own well over 50% of the online inventory of Minneapolis tickets as well as St. Paul tickets. Their prices are also always cheaper for all Twin Cities events. My assumption is that in order to get the best price on tickets, no matter what market it is, you have to find the locally owned ticket broker. That way you will be going directly to the source and not paying any additional fee. So, don't buy tickets from the first site that comes up on google or yahoo, spend some extra time shopping around in order to find the home town broker like Ticketking.

Minnesota Vikings home game ticket prices are steadily dropping
Minnesota Vikings ticket prices are dropping fast! It has almost gotten to the point that the outcome of the final game versus the St. Louis Rams won't matter and the prices on the Minnesota Vikings tickets for that game are really cheap. Last week when I checked, tickets in the upper level were going for $29.95/ticket and now the same seats are $19.95/ticket. Vikings tickets in the lower level were $74.95 last week and they are $59.95 today. My hunch is that the prices are going to continue to drop. If you are interested in actually going to see the final home Vikings game, I would wait until the middle of next week. I don't think that there is any way that the prices for this game will go up. Go Vikings!!!

Jerry Seinfeld tickets for Minneapolis just went on sale
For those who haven't seen comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld, now is your chance. Tickets just went on sale for his two shows on 2/9 at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. It looks like prices are much less than his last visit to the Twin Cities. At this point, excellent main floor seats can be had for between $99 and $199 per ticket. Those prices aren't bad for a comedian like Jerry Seinfeld. The Orpheum Theatre is an excellent place to see a show and February is an excellent time to see a show. Don't miss Jerry Seinfeld at the Historic Orpheum Theatre this winter. I hope that George & Kraemer are there!
Minnesota Wild tickets for games over the holidays are disappearing
Minnesota Wild tickets for the games on 12/23, 12/29 & 12/31 are rapidly disappearing from places like Craig's List, Ebay, Stub Hub & Ticket King. I recently checked the availability and the prices and found that NHL hockey games are a big deal in St. Paul over the holiday season. I guess that I am not surprised, there isn't a better place to hang over the holidays than the Xcel Energy Center. I guess that people must feel like they are going to get sick of hanging with Aunt Edna and eating rock hard fruit cake. So, if you are looking for something to do before the new years, a Minnesota Wild game is where it is at. GO WILD!!!

Minnesota Wild ticket demand is starting to heat up!
The demand for Minnesota Wild hockey tickets has really taken off. As I wrote in an earlier post, demand for NHL tickets generally picks up after the holidays. This year, demand seems to be picking up at an earlier date. There are already some weekday games that are a big deal. For example, the Minnesota Wild vs. Vancouver Canucks on 12/19 is a relatively big ticket. Seats to this game are selling at over face value. If you had asked me at the beginning of the year, I would have told you that you could get into that game for much less than face value. If this trend continues, I am sure that the prices on Wild tickets will reach an all time high after the holidays. It might be a good idea to snap them up now. Especially if Gaborik & Walz come back strong. Don't wait if you want to catch a Minnesota Wild game at the Xcel Energy Center this year. GO WILD!!!

It's official - Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey tickets are in high demand
If there has ever been a sports dynasty in the Twin Cities market it is the Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team of the last 5 or so years. Has anyone ever seen a team like the Minnesota Gophers that just keeps winning while every year losing countless players to the pros? We have become used to the fact that they are good and will continue to be good year after year. This year was supposed to be a rebuilding year where the Gophers hockey team just doesn't quite have it. Well, the so called experts had it wrong. This years Gophers hockey team is just plain good! It is easy to see how they are doing by simply looking at the Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey tickets market. Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey tickets are practically impossible to find and when you do find them, get ready to pay through the nose. GO GOPHERS!!!
You better buy Timberwolves tickets now before A.I. comes to town
If you have any desire to check out the Wolves this season you had better act fast. The hottest rumor in town is that Allen Iverson is heading to the Timberwolves in a blockbuster trade that is set to happen this week. If you want to witness a ticket market explode, just check out the prices on Minnesota Timberwolves tickets if A.I. becomes a Timberwolf. My prediction is that the cheap prices that we are seeing right now will double if and when the trade happens. No one will be able to resist forking out big bucks to see A.I. and K.G. on the same team. My advice is to act now or get ready to remortgage your house in order to catch a Timberwolves game down the road. GO WOLVES!!!

Tickets to The Who on 12/8 at Xcel Energy Center are hard to come by
There aren't any god options available right now for The Who show tonight at the Xcel Energy Center. I find it hard to believe that there aren't a bunch of cheap seats being listed online for this show. I didn't think that The Who could get away with charging $200/ticket for their show in St. Paul. Apparently, they could. It mus t be due to the fact that the people who grew up listening to The Who have some $. It also didn't hurt that the show is on a Friday. This show is just another example of a rock show selling well in the Twin Cities. For the sake of everyone who paid the big bucks, I hope that the show turns out to be as good as Bob Seger and Eric Clapton. Those two St. Paul concerts turned out to be great shows! Rock on St. Paul!

Aerosmith & Motley Crue tickets impossible to find for 12/7 show
I hope that you didn't wait in hopes of tickets to Aerosmith & Motley Crue going down in price for the show at the Target Center. I checked it out this morning and it is impossible to find any premium Target Center tickets for Aerosmith & Motley Crue. This was definitely an example of a show picking up steam as it neared. The moral to the story is that sometimes you can be left on the outside looking in by waiting for prices to drop on the tickets that you want. All that is left to do is check out the Minneapolis concert schedule for an alternative show to see.

Timberwolves vs. Rockets 12/6 are selling fast
Minnesota Timberwolves tickets vs. the Houston Rockets today have really disappeared from online ticket broker sites in the last couple of days. Maybe people want to check out the "freak of nature" Yao Ming or maybe people like what the saw when the Wolves took it to the 76'ers a few days ago. That game gave every Timberwolves fan reason to be optimistic about the future. It would be a ton of fun to get the Target Center rocking for Timberwolves games like it was a few years ago. At least this years team, unlike the train wreck of last yaer, appears to have the potential to be competitive. It might be time for me to break out my Wolves jersey and venture downtown Minneapolis to catch the game tonight. GO KG & WOLVES!!!

Aerosmith tickets at Target Center on 12/7 are a hot commodity!
Tickets to the Aerosmith/Motley crue on 12/7 are a super hot commodity. It is amazing that 2 groups that have been around for so long can still pack an arena like the Target Center. It is hard to find any above average seats for less than $200 right now. It feels like rock bands are always a tough ticket in the twin cities. I noticed that there was even demand for GNR last weekend at the Target Center. Fans of bands like these are generally loyal and willing to kick it out for seats up front. I am going to take a pass on the show this week unless prices come down a bit. Unfortunately, I am not holding my breath.

Timberwolves vs. Nuggets tickets on 12/1 not a big deal
The Minnesota Timberwolves ticket market has hit a new low. There is no shortage of tickets for the big game versus the Denver Nuggets tonight. We know that people aren't super into the Wolves but maybe people are also bored with Carmelo Anthony. I browsed online and found tons of great seats at or below the face value. In years past, the games against the Denver Nuggets were some of the most sought after tickets of the year. The cheapest options were from Ticket King. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but most online sites have basically the same inventory. I think that most of the seats in this market are owned by TicketKing and simply marked up on all of the other sites. If you are looking for something to do tonight, you should check out the Wolves game. GO WOLFIES!!!

2006-2007 Minnesota Golden Gophers Basketball tickets
It is official, Minnesota Golden Gophers Basketball tickets are a dime a dozen. I have noticed that the online availability of tickets has steadily increased while the prices have drastically decreased. Maybe having Monson resign will help turn the program around. I long for the days of Clem Haskins and his winning teams. You couldn't touch a good seat for any of the Gophers home games and prices were sky high. Keep in mind, it is the Big 10 games that are generally in high demand. The games against Wisconsin, Iowa and any nationally ranked opponent tend to sell for big bucks regardless of how the Gophs are doing. GO GOPHERS!!!

Wild vs. Sharks tickets easy to come by
Tickets for the Minnesota Wild vs. San Jose Sharks game were not in high demand. It was possible to buy Wild tickets for this game at face value the week of the game. I found seats in the lower level on the website of Ticket King, the largest Twin Cities broker, for just $54.95/ticket. That price is actually less than what Ticketmaster sells the same seats for. I am confident that if the Wild had played at home more recently, prior to the Sharks game, the prices would have been even lower. Historically, Minnesota Wild tickets become a hot commodity after the holidays. If you want to catch a Wild game in the "state of hockey," now is the time. GO WILD!!!

Bob Seger tickets at Xcel Energy Center
Anyone who waited to buy their Bob Seger tickets for the show at the Xcel Energy Center until the night of the show got in cheap. I spoke to my favorite street ticket vendor and he told me that seats were going for less than face value outside the Xcel Energy Center. I was told that there weren't any really good floor or lower level tickets exchanging hands but if you weren't picky, you got in cheap. Personally, I am not a fan of sitting in nose bleed seats, but for those that were on a budget they got to see a rock icon like Bob Seger for less than face value. That definitely beats paying big bucks in advance. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose by waiting. This time you won.

Vikings vs. Packers tickets on 12/21/2006 are affordable
For those of you thinking about making the trek to the hallowed ground of Lambeau Field, this is the year. It is possible to buy Packer Viking tickets for only $155.00. Historically, the prices for that game have been much higher. I remember one year when I had to pay $225/ticket. Be careful if you are waiting for prices to drop. This is the last game of the season and if Favre announces this is his last year, the cheeseheads will storm the place and prices will sky rocket. Enjoy the brats, beer and people dressed in blaze orange. GO VIKINGS!!!

2006-2007 Minnesota Timberwolves tickets are a dime a dozen!
I spent a few hours, while watching the Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots game, checking out the Minnesota Timberwolves ticket market. I searched all of the major national online ticket brokers as well as the local brokers. It is obvious to me that no one expects Timberwolves tickets to be a hot commodity. You can buy excellent lower level tickets to most regular season Timberwolves games for around face value. It is also possible to get into most game for less than $10.00. Compared to the Minnesota Wild, the Minnesota Timberwolves are a real bargain. Let's face it, an NBA Basketball ticket for less than $10.00, is a can't miss proposition. GO WOLVES!!!
Good demand for Vikes/Cards tickets day of the game!
The word on the street is that there was unusually high demand for the Vikings vs. Cardinals game outside the Metrodome on the day of the game. I think that the fact it was Thanksgiving weekend as well as it being the return of Dennis Green and Larry Fitzgerald Jr caused there to be some interest in the game. I was told that seats in the lower level were going for close to face value and seats in the upper level were selling for around half price. Not bad for a game between two teams with losing records. If the Vikes go on a winning streak, look for day of the game prices to exceed the face value. GO VIKES!!!

2006 Vikings ticket prices drop below face value!
Wow! The prices for Minnesota Vikings home games have drastically dropped in the last couple of weeks. I knew that the record of the Vikes can have an effect on ticket prices but had no idea that a 4 & 6 record could cause prices to go below face value. If you are into the NFL or the Vikes, but not willing to pay huge buck$, now is the time to buy. I found tickets for $14.95 for the Vikings/Cardinals game on www.vikingstickets.com. I think that is 1/2 of face value. On the same site, there were tickets for the Vikings/Jets game on 12/17 for $29.95. At this point, we all probably realize that our favorite football team isn't going to the Superbowl, but an NFL regular season game for less than face value is too good of a deal to pass up. GO VIKES!!!

2007 Minnesota Twins tickets hit the market!
If you haven't noticed, Minnesota Twins tickets are now available for all 2007 home games. It looks like to me that the ticket holders are really counting on the Twinkies continuing their good run from last year. The prices that I am finding are very similar to what the tickets were going for last year. Historically, the most sought after tickets are for the games against the Red Sox, Yankees or White Sox. Because of the recent success of the Tigers, there was a spike in Twins vs. Tigers prices last year. I think that the savvy Twins ticket buyer should hold off on paying big money for the early season games against the Yankees and Red Sox. In years past, the prices for the April and May Twins games, regardless of the opponent, tend to drop as the games approach. I think it is because the kids haven't gotten out of school yet or because pro hockey and basketball are still going on. On the other hand, I recommend that anyone interested in seeing games against the Tigers or White Sox, should snap them up now. Last year, prices for those games sky rocketed as the season unfolded. Don't miss your chance to see any of the big divisional games, especially the last two series versus the White Sox and Tigers. If things fall into place, those could be untouchable tickets like they were last year. GO TWINKIES!!!
